NEVER pass up a pair of lamps with good bones!!!

Got these babies for $10 total...Two lamps with shade 10 bucks and they both work!!! With a little Rustoleum Heirloom white spray paint, my ever faithful cricut vinyl lettering and some ribbon... Do these look like $10 lamps.......I don't think so! How cute!

Armoire redo! Is it possible?

Here's the before.....Wish I had a picture of it before it was disassembled. It was brought to me like this.... You can see the "vintage" (not) grape hardware that adorned this piece... The drawer has the new finish on it. This armoire had the genuine faux oak finish from top to bottom, inside and out!

Here is the after.....A little sanding okay allot of sanding, some white paint, more sanding and a little Ralph!!! (Ralph Lauren's smoke glaze) Is this amazing or what... I am still in awe when I see it. Unfortunately I did such a good job the person it belonged to- wanted it back.. :-(

The Ugly Bed........

What do you get when you cross an ugly FREE bed with an already used piece of oval wood?

My very first Slipcovered chair!!!!

Here's the before....I am redoing my living room layout so bear with me! I will share more photos when done!!!! First I had to find two matching chairs! And Craigslist proved to be the place to look... The asking price? $225 for both, what did I pay.......$125 and a slipcover for a foam insert for a bench! Don't be afraid to barter!!! SCORE! Not bad in gray right, but not with the gold color in my living room!

Now -the "in- between"......

And now the finished chair!! At least one finished chair.... My advice take your time and go slow and best of all: If you don't own a seam ripper get two!!!!!!! You may not improve your sewing skills but you will have mastered seam ripping!!!!!!!!!!! Andrea

Your Child's Name and Bible Verse Wall Plaque

So how did I get here?
I cut a 12 x 12 square out of 1/4" MDF, table saw works best here. Take the guard off but what your fingers!
I cut 4 pieces of 1 x 2 for the back.
I used Liquid Nail to attach the 1 x 2s to the back of the MDF. (Sorry Shanty I know you like Gorilla Glue but I can't stand the smell). Make sure the 1 x 2s line up with the MDF and let dry completely.
Sand down your edges and I sand the MDF slightly with 80 grit sandpaper.
Paint, paint and then paint again. MDF loves paint!
I did use Mr. Ralph's smoke glaze!!! But went back over with the aqua to tone down the smoke- got it a little too heavy for a child's room...
I prefer multiply layers of paint to create a linen look, which you can't see in the pictures. But trust me!
For the lettering I used my cricut and I used several fonts from my computer. I do have Sure Cuts a Lot, so I am not limited to cartridges and so I can manipulate the layout. As for the vinyl, I highly recommend http://www.vinylsuperstore.com/. Marilyn has the best prices around and her turn around time is even better...
The last step is one I always make and that is a layer of Anita's Water Clean Up Polyurethane.
